IT Engineering Manager - new startup (climate tech)

Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to drive growth, innovation, and market leadership,
- Developing and executing a technology strategy to ensure platform scalability, reliability, and security,
- Overseeing MVP application development, software lifecycle management, and implementing best practices for DevOps and CI/CD,
- Building and leading an engineering team while optimizing performance,
- Coordinating integrations with external systems (e.g., energy providers, payment systems, qualified signatures, CRMs, inverters),
- Implementing analytics and AI modules for energy consumption forecasting, cost optimization, and user decision support,
- Ensuring legal compliance and system security,
- Optimizing system infrastructure, data management, and scalability in dynamic user growth.
Requirements:
- At least 4 years of experience as a VP of Engineering or Senior Engineering Manager,
- Experience in building scalable SaaS systems, IoT platforms, or fintech/energy-tech applications,
- Knowledge of cloud architecture (AWS/GCP/Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD systems,
- Ability to manage large data volumes and a basic understanding of implementing ML/AI algorithms for energy analytics,
- Familiarity with payment, billing, and security systems in fintech/energy-tech,
- Strong web and mobile application security, API security, and user data protection knowledge,
- Experience in scaling engineering teams and recruiting technical talent,
- Understanding IT project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban) and tools such as Jira, ClickUp, and Git.
Nice to Have:
Experience with AI-driven analytics and predictive modeling,
Knowledge of energy market regulations and compliance requirements,
Familiarity with edge computing and IoT device management,
Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and serverless computing,
Previous work in a high-growth startup environment.
