About the role
We are looking for a COO / CTO Co-founder to co-build an AI-driven startup focused on automating accounting and financial processes for modern businesses.
This is a hands-on founder role, not a corporate executive position.
You will be responsible for shaping both the technology and operational backbone of the company: from defining the product architecture and automation logic, through building delivery processes, to co-managing the company together with the founding team.
Your mission is to turn accounting automation into a scalable, repeatable, and reliable product and operational engine, combining AI, process design, product thinking, and operational excellence in an early-stage, high-uncertainty environment.
Your responsibilities
As COO / CTO Co-founder, you will be responsible for:
Designing and iterating the core product vision for an AI-powered accounting automation platform,
Translating accounting workflows into scalable, automated, and AI-supported solutions,
Leading the architecture and development of automation pipelines, integrations, and data flows,
Monitoring AI, automation, and fintech/accounting tech trends and applying them to product strategy,
Ensuring high standards of reliability, security, and scalability,
Designing and building operational processes from scratch (delivery, onboarding, support),
Implementing process improvement and automation across internal operations,
Establishing project management and execution frameworks,
Optimising efficiency, time-to-value, and customer satisfaction,
Co-managing the company together with the founding team,
Building and leading a small, high-impact engineering/operations team,
Shaping company culture around ownership, accountability, and excellence,
Participating in investor communication and pitch preparation,
Overseeing operational and technology-related financial planning (budgeting, forecasting).
Who we are looking for (Must-have)
At least 5-7+ years of proven track record of leadership experience in startups or scale-ups,
Proven experience in building products or operations from scratch,
3+ years in roles such as CTO, COO, VP Engineering, or equivalent,
Hands-on experience in automation, AI, or process improvement projects,
Strong understanding of product development and technical architecture,
Solid knowledge of project management and process design,
Entrepreneurial mindset: ownership, speed, and accountability,
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills,
Ability to thrive in high-uncertainty, pre-PMF environments,
C1+ level of spoken and written English and Polish.
Nice to have
Experience in accounting, fintech, ERP, or financial operations,
Exposure to B2B SaaS business models,
Experience with scaling technical teams or platforms,
Previous fundraising or investor collaboration experience,
Experience integrating AI into production systems.
